Today we added the 10th template to our templates site, named Chocolate. We are so proud that within our first two months we made 10 website templates, and released them all under the free BSD for the public.
Our plan is to make this template website a large portal with many many web site templates, for that of course we have to buy some new servers, domain names and all. Running a free website is not that easy, so if you are interested to contribute our help website with templates, computers, money, anything you prefer contact Nivanka about it.
Our resident designer Nivanka is working really hard with designing them as well as working on many PHP, Wordpress Projects that we have got. Good work Nivanka Keep it up......
SilverStripe Open Source CMS made it to the finals as the "most promising open-source CMS" at Packtpub CMS Awards.
We are really happy because we use SilverStripe to run our websites as well as for our projects.
Now we all can vote SilverStripe to help it to get into the top three.
I made my vote, click here if you didnt vote yet.
Lorem Ipsum I dont think that there are web designers who are not aware about that text. Almost every web designer use that text to make up their templates. I used that too but I didnt know the meaning of it until yesterday though, what I only new is that it is Latin. Yesterday while I was having a chat with my colleagues I asked about this and we searched on the internet. Until then I just thought that they are some words just nothing more than that.
If you are not still aware here is the lorem ipsum
I read that this text has been used as a dummy text from 1500s, and one unknown printer has used it first and thereafter all sort of publishers, designers make use of it to add some text contents to there designs.
I found the meaning of the text too...
1914 translation by H. Rackham
"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?"
I got all these information from http://www.lipsum.com/. Better go there and have a read too...
